More Games. More Ground.
UnboundVR turns treadmill movement into SteamVR playspace movement. The goal is simple: use your KAT in games that never added KAT support.
Core built, hardware acceptance pending
KAT input, safety state, profiles, Natural Motion shaping, account/device ownership, and the control server are built. Real SteamVR playspace output is still being restored and physically validated.Move the playspace. Skip the game-by-game support.
1 · Read the treadmill
UnboundVR reads KAT movement, loads the game profile, and shapes starts, stops, strafing and gait without taking away manual tuning.
2 · Know which way you're walking
Natural Motion can prefer body direction and fall back to controller or head cues, while resisting ordinary look-around steering. Manual direction modes still override it.
3 · Move SteamVR safely
Before walking can turn on, UnboundVR must verify KAT's normal joystick movement is out of the way. The real playspace backend still requires physical acceptance.
Keep it local, or use another gaming PC.
Same PC
KAT Gateway, UnboundVR, SteamVR, and the game all run on the gaming PC. This is the recommended first setup.
Two-PC / Cloud
The same UnboundVR package installs on both PCs. The account/device layer identifies HOME and CLOUD; the encrypted live locomotion transport is still pending.
No good signal? No movement.
Unbound Guard
Walking stays off if KAT's normal joystick movement is still active or can't be verified.
Stale input
If treadmill data stops arriving, UnboundVR marks it stale, resets Natural Motion velocity, and does not replay old movement.
Emergency stop
E-stop cuts through Quiet Play and stays latched until a safe, deliberate clear.
UnboundVR isn't made by KAT VR, Valve, or the games it works with. Compatibility will be listed only after real testing.
